Who I Am

These two words embody & drive much of my philosophy about games, their creation and their enjoyment. Pretty straightforward really – if I’m not enjoying myself, often thrilled by what is being created or excited by the challenges (be the reflex or thought), I can’t really expect anybody else to!

I am an experienced designer with 24 years in AAA console & mobile titles in both startup & large studios. I have worked in multiple genres, including FPS, 3rd Person Action, Sports, Family, Action Strategy and, most recently, Real Time Strategy. I have worked on motion control games where the player is ‘the controller’. I have particular experience in conceptualization, design, implementation and tuning of player characters, enemies, features & gameplay mechanics. I’ve built boss encounters, singleplayer missions and campaigns.

Throughout my career, I have balanced the game experience with the strategic goals for the studio. I have led teams both small & large. I know the challenges of creating meaningful & fun experiences in both the console & mobile spaces, particularly with new, in-development technology. And I look forward to creating new, exciting gameplay experiences!
