Dawn of War III (PC)
Dawn of War III is the latest return to the thrilling Warhammer franchise created by Relic. Drawing on elements from both Dawn of War I and II, the new title presented a new vision for the gameplay and campaign structure. Seamlessly weaving a compelling narrative from the perspectives of the Space Marines, the Eldar and the Orks in a chase to take control of a catastrophic weapon on the planet Acheron.
Built in Relic’s own Essence Engine, the goal of the game was to give players the power fantasy of colossal battles that delivered a playable version of the stunning dioramas that the tabletop players have created over the years. We also wanted players to take control of Elites, powerful units that opened up another set of interesting tools to strategically play with. And some of these Elites were the biggest ever seen in the franchise, delivering the awesome destructive capabilities of the Imperial Knight, Wraithknight or Gorkanaut.
Accomplishments
– Led the SP Campaign team, working closely with all mission designers to achieve the Creative Director’s vision & goals for the Campaign
– Mentored junior mission designers
– Designed & tuned a number of smaller features (including cameras)
– Led the design for the game’s AI development, for both SP & MP
– Performed promotional duties for the game with the Creative Director, handling written, video and on-stage work
– Led implementation & iteration on difficulty tuning
– Worked on pre-production for an unreleased expansion
